Nottingham Country Council set up a sting operation to check shops if they were selling alcohol to under age customers. Of the 22 shops stung, 13 sold alcohol to the customer despite his ID stating he was only 17 years old. What is even more surprising is that some of the shops checked the card and still sold the goods to him, even when the picture on it was clearly wrong. I think this is the lesson of this story: don't accept anyone with a ID card with a picture of a cartoon, even if it is the customer drawn in cartoon form!
